Terms of Use
The rules for using fountainheadri.org and the FountainHead RI app, registering for events and taking part in the community.
Last updated Monday, October 19, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and FountainHead RI, a Rhode Island nonprofit. By creating an account, registering for an event, or using the website or app, you agree to them, to the Privacy Policy and to the Community guidelines. If you don’t agree, don’t use the services.
2. Who can use the services
You must be at least 16 years old. If you use the services for an organization, you confirm you’re allowed to act for it.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date, and use your real name in community features.
- Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read your email can receive your sign-in codes.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.
- You can delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Events, tickets and payments
- Prices are shown in US dollars. Paid tickets are held for 15 minutes while you pay. If payment isn’t completed in time, the seats are released and you aren’t charged.
- Payments are processed by PayPal under its own terms. A registration is confirmed once payment goes through.
- Refunds follow the refund policy shown on the event’s page and at registration. If FountainHead RI cancels an event, you’ll get a full refund of what you paid.
- Programs, speakers, times and venues can change. We’ll tell registered attendees about significant changes.
- Tickets are for the people named on them. Transfer a ticket only through the transfer option on your registration. Reselling tickets for profit isn’t allowed.
- Event capacity, waitlists and approval requirements are set by FountainHead RI, which may decline or cancel a registration that breaks these terms. Any payment for it is then refunded.
- At events, follow the venue’s rules and staff instructions. FountainHead RI may remove anyone who is unsafe or disruptive, without a refund.
- Events may be photographed or recorded. Tell staff at check-in if you’d prefer not to appear.
5. Membership
Membership benefits and prices are described on the Membership page. Member prices apply to the member’s own account. FountainHead RI may change membership benefits for future terms.
6. Community features and your content
Event chat, questions for speakers, direct messages, connections and contact cards are for professional networking. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not post or send anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens, or demeans anyone, including hate speech or attacks based on identity;
- is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable;
- is spam, unsolicited selling, scams, or misleading links;
- pretends to be someone else, or shares someone’s private information without permission;
- is illegal, or infringes someone else’s rights.
You can report any message or person, and block anyone. FountainHead RI reviews reports promptly, generally within 24 hours, and may remove content, mute or remove people from chat, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give FountainHead RI permission to store and display it in the services so they work (for example, showing your chat messages to other attendees), and to remove it. FountainHead RI isn’t responsible for what other people post, but acts on reports.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the services: no attempts to access other people’s accounts or data, no scraping or bulk downloading of attendee information, no interfering with how the services run, and no using them to break the law.
8. FountainHead RI’s content
The services, including their design, text, logos and software, belong to FountainHead RI or its licensors. You may use them for their intended purpose but not copy, resell or redistribute them. The platform is powered by yconic.ai.
9. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep them accurate and running but can’t promise they’ll always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, FountainHead RI isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim about the services or an event is limited to what you paid us for the registration involved, or $100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can’t be limited.
You agree to cover FountainHead RI’s reasonable costs if a claim against it arises from your content or from your breaking these terms.
10. The iOS app
If you use the app from Apple’s App Store, these terms are between you and FountainHead RI, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the app or its content, and no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to meet a warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid for the app (the app is free); Apple has no other warranty obligation. FountainHead RI, not Apple, is responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims and intellectual-property claims. You confirm you’re not in a country subject to US embargo and not on a US list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You must also follow Apple’s Media Services Terms.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the services and delete your account at any time. FountainHead RI may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. The sections on content permissions, disclaimers and governing law continue after that.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island and applicable US law. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Rhode Island, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
13. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date below and tell you about important changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the services after that means you accept the new terms. Questions: info@fountainheadri.org.
